FUNDUSZU OBFITOŚCI
How we fund:
participatory, unrestricted, rooted in the collective
The Abundance Fund resources coalitions of grassroots groups on a country to country basis through a participatory process aimed at highlighting the diverse and interconnected skillsets of each group who, collectively, represent a dynamic movement toward climate just futures.
The process begins with an open call for nominations and the hiring of a country-based scout who is tasked with scoping for (cross referencing the open call) groups/initiatives to invite into the participatory process.
The Scout is asked to have 1:1 calls with potential grantees to share who/what Collective Abundance and the Abundance Fund is, what the participatory process involves, and to learn more about them.
The Scout then makes a suggested list of ~20 groups and shares this with the Abundance Fund working group, which consists of a member or two of the CA Core team and 2-3 local organisers.
Assessing against our selection criteria, the working group and the scout will reach a consensus on 10 groups to invite to the Fund.
The 10 groups are invited to a first online call followed by an in-person gathering to initiate the collective process.
The first year is an invitation for groups to explore what this “coalition” could be/do - individual funding of 10.000€ and collective pots are offered.
Individual funding continues in years two and three, and the collective pots extend for a fourth year to support the building of autonomous coalitions.
Groups continue shaping the process. Collective Abundance nurtures wider ecosystem connections and works to support the country coalitions financially and non-financially.
What we fund:
grassroots, cross-movement, under the umbrella of climate justice
The Abundance Fund resources informal groups, networks, and small organizations that large funding organisations often overlook. The majority have never received traditional funding before and do not necessarily describe their work as climate justice, although they absolutely contribute to climate just futures in their aim of building new systems in order to increase wellbeing across their communities.
Our goal is to resource a diverse array of work across the movement-ecosystem and allow these initial groups to grow and shape their coalition as they see fit. Currently, we resource country coalitions in three countries: Spain, Poland and Greece. We look forward to welcoming more countries to the Collective Abundance Network in the near future!
